Outside of New York does anyone really care about the Knicks problems?

Question: New York is really getting to much attention in my opinion for being such a poor team. If it was Memphis, Portland, Milwaukee, or another small market team, they would be ignored. So my question is, are the Knicks getting so much attention, becuase the rest of the country actually cares about the Knicks, or is it to appease the people who live in New York?

Answer: I think some of the attention is because NY is a major city whereas the other mentioned teams are in smaller markets. However, the Knicks have a rich history in the NBA and I believe it's everyone's expectations that they would be much better than they are due to their past accomplishments. It would be no different than if the NE Patriots come in last place next year and end up being a sub par 500 time the next 10 years.......people would want answers as to why????? Following the Patrick Ewing era, the Knicks haven't been much better than a mediocre college team. Isiah Thomas is not the answer. It has already costs the Knicks too much. Think of it this way.......if he were the CEO of some Fortune 500 company and had all the same failure, he would be gone. Right now the Knicks are an embarrassment to the NBA. Some strategic decisions need to be made and the first would be to give Isiah his walking papers.
